Rice Cakes to the Rescue!

Yes that’s me eating the rice cake in the banquet hall restaurant whatever…

I know I know like really Sue you brought rice cakes to the restaurant? I did deal with it. Whether your the restaurant, hall or my dining guests. It only takes a few outings like this for you and “them” to get used to it.

Your mom will eventually praise you or think your crazy but isn’t that normal mom behaviour? Your husband will ignore you or roll his eyes and give you a high five behind closed doors.

Let’s be honest he picked you he knows your awesome and loves seeing you be more and more awesome!

But why the extreme behaviour such as bringing your food to people’s houses or functions? Well because you set the tone for your own beliefs in yourself.

If you made a commitment to yourself to eat clean for 2 weeks then it’s 2 weeks! Weekends are included! If your going to go back and forth from weekend cheating to weekday clean eating you will NEVER get to your goals. Taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back is telling yourself it’s ok to cut corners it’s ok it’s just once…

Just once will program your mind to believe that it’s ok to cheat on your commitment. Just once means you didn’t do what you set out to do. Starting over sucks, doing something that’s extremely hard and challenging is extremely inspiring to yourself and others around you!
So back to my rant…

Ladies there’s nothing more annoying than you telling me that you are going out for someone’s birthday and you MUST drink! But I have a this and I have a that, DON’T CARE. Why? well because you need to create a new HABIT more than you need to get to your goal.  Creating new habits requires practice and repeating an action that will help you form that habit.  That is why you need to PRACTICE eating clean at functions, restaurants, etc if you want to form a habit that will eventually lead you to your goal.

Must you look bloated and swollen on that outfit you dieted all week to fit into?

Must you?

There will always be parties and birthday 52 weekends a year.

Pick 2,3, even 4 to wear your best outfits look amazing and sip on water and order some salad no dressing and ask for the cleanest protein available! Commit to that goal like a CHAMPION because that’s who you are!

Please don’t mistaken my actions for appearance related goals.  If you only set goals related to your appearance they will not create habits.  For example I want to look like I lost 10 pounds is appearance related. I want to never miss a workout and look like I never miss a workout is a habit I will have to form. Its an identity based goal.  Other examples of Identity goals formed from habits are “I want me and my family eat clean 80% of the time.”

Guess what the outcome of that goal is? We all live longer and look great!

Pick goals that will make you form a new habit that will further improve your identity.  Once that habit is formed you are more likely to achieve your goal.
